Audience Engagement

Audience feedback is an important part of any conference. After each presentation, interactive sessions help break up continuous presenting and give attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the presenter. This can include live Q&A, where audience members submit questions from their mobile devices for the presenter to review during or after the session.
Presenters can also involve the audience during a session by inviting them to take part in live polls or contribute to word clouds.
Online Engagement with Mentimeter
As part of the AV Kit Hire setup, we include Mentimeter, an online tool that supports:
  • live Q&A submitted from audience mobile devices
  • real-time polls during presentations
  • word clouds to capture audience views and ideas
  • event surveys and post-session feedback
Results can be displayed instantly on presenter comfort monitors and main conference screens, creating useful talking points, real-time feedback, and stronger audience participation.

How it works:
Mentimeter is simple to set up and easy for audiences to use. Attendees access it through their mobile phone browser by scanning a QR code displayed on screen. Presenters can view submitted questions on their own device, respond to the audience, and choose when to display polls or results during their presentation.
Mentimeter can also be used for event surveys, allowing attendees to submit feedback on the whole event. We simply add your chosen questions into the system before the session.

Discussion Panels
Discussion panels are one of the most effective ways to involve the audience. For a full-day event, including one or two panels can help break up presentations and build interest in key topics. With a host and panellists on stage, the host can guide the discussion, introduce talking points, and invite audience questions using roaming floor microphones. This creates a more personal and interactive session between the stage and the audience.
